Chemical Milling Process- Benefits
Low Cost Tooling Tooling is created via CAD quickly with no long-winded mechanical processes involved. In the unlikely event of the tooling wearing out, a replacement is provided free of charge. Low Cost Design Changes The Photo Chemical Machining (PCM) process allows the designer to do practical experiments at low cost. Rapid prototyping is possible ensuring that cost effective improvements are easy to implement.
Half-etched forming Forming lines can be half etched into the metal to allow components to be formed by hand.
Prototype to Full Production PCM can be used to make one or a million parts, with the identical tooling used every time. This allows the engineer or designer to develop their concept from prototype to full production quickly and easily.

Metal Properties Unaltered PCM carries the unique advantages of leaving the internal structure of the metal unchanged. Neither does it affect the properties of the metal with regard to hardness, grain structure, or ductility of the metal. Burr Free The PCM process produces burr free components, thus eliminating the need for costly time-consuming de-burring.
Identification Marks Company logos, part numbers or other identifying marks can easily be etched into the surface during manufacture at no extra cost.
Tabbed-in components When individual components are tabbed-into sheets, there are benefits of improved tolerances and lower costs.

The photo chemical machining or milling etching process. Thin sheet metal components etched chemically (photo etched metal). Photochemical machining (photoetching) is suitable for etched metal components used in EMC/RFI shielding, encoder disc, actuator, switch contact, screening can, shim, solder mask, rotor lamination, lead frame, filters, heat sink, mesh, connector, applications.
