Da Vinci Invites – December 2006
The V and A Museum required some invitations for the launch of their Leonardo Da Vinci exhibition, held in 2006.
They wanted the invitations to be functional, decorative and tactile.
Photofabrication were able to etch the invitations in their flat state, and using the all important half etch technique, the invitations, were able to be manipulated easily by hand, to form 3D shapes. These shapes were based upon the inventions of Da Vinci himself.
No other method of manufacture could have coped with this level of sophistication.

Effluent Refurbished - September 2006

With the increased throughput at Photofabs the existing effluent system needed to be upgraded. This included the addition of a much larger capacity tank with state of the art lamellas. Photofab are now able to treat more waste chemicals with the added peace of mind that we are even safer to the environment.

Photofab Goes Green! - August 2006
As a conscientious company Photofab have implemented an environmental and water policy. This policy is aimed at reducing the amount of “wasted” energy used throughout the company. Working closely with The Carbon Trust we were all surprised at the number of areas where energy is constantly being wasted. This ranges from changing the heating system to turning off lights when not required. Everyone at Photofab is very aware of how precious energy is and are developing different ways to make reductions.
The new policy can be seen at www.photofab.co.uk/environment/energypolicy.htm

30 Years of Service - May 2006

This month one of our employees, Linda, achieved a milestone of 30 years with Photofabrication. Linda started with Photofabs in 1976 with a view to earn enough money to buy a new cooker. 30 years on Linda is still a highly valued member of the team.

May We Present – Creativetch - March 2006
Creativetch is the new decorative arm of Photofabrication. Over the past several years the requirement for decorative items such as metal business cards, party invites, plaques, signage, novelty items, etc has grown and grown. With this in mind we have set up Creativetch with a dedicated account manager (Lorraine Wilton).

We have also completely renovated the screen printing and paint infill section of the company, investing heavily in a new cleaner working environment which will allow your creative ideas to develop. Please investigate the new options at www.creativetch.co.uk

Graphics Refurbishment - January 2006
A project to move the graphics department to a newly refurbished section of the building has now been completed. This was a must due to the team growing to cater for the customers needs. This was also essential to accommodate both the new processor and image setter invested in to provide a more detailed service. Technology is constantly evolving and at Photofab we want to be at the forefront of all new advancements.

JobBOSS goes from Strength to Strength - October 2005
With over two years since the new ERP system was implemented Photofab has seen its flexibility increase considerably. This has enabled us to have greater visibility on delivery dates. Accurate routing allows each order to be processed with complete traceability and increased efficiency. This crucial investment will also make extra capacity available through the complete management of information.

The Account Manager Team Grows - May 2005
We would all like to welcome Sara to the account manager team here at Photofab. Since the account manager structure was introduced over 3 years ago we have seen the team double. We believe that each customer needs to have one point of contact, opposed to a whole list of individuals who all know a little bit about the requirement. Sara comes from a sales background and is looking forward to championing the cause for her accounts.

New Employee – Nick - May 2005
This month sees the appointment of Nick Orchard. With a technical background Nick has vast knowledge and experience in the chemical milling industry. He will be managing the “front end” of the process where he will be able to put his skills to great use. When combined with the large print room investment back in February 2004 this area of the business is set to break new ground in the industry.
