Shouldn’t be surprised really, take two sports who are paid millions (often not justified) and put them together. That’s what Sauber and Chelsea are up to, look for the Chelsea logo on the Sauber cars in the next Spanish Grand Prix.

I wonder if Schumaker in the Mercedes might add the Bayern Munich one to his?

Forecasters are predicting a months rainfall in five days. April averages 54mm of rain each year, however the met office are predicting 60mm in the next five days.

Now whilst I am pleased this will help combat the drought can I just ask everyone to stop saying, “well my garden could do with it!”

Weight in Sport

Some research has looked at the effect of gaining / losing weight on sport stars. Carl Peterson (golfer) put his latest victory down to adding weight through junk food whereas back in the 90′s (sounds a long time ago) Nick Faldo built up muscles to add length to his game and lost his touch on the greens. In tennis a female player had her breasts reduced (much to the dissapointment on her fans) and went from top 200 to top 50 in the world.

Perhaps some sports value that comfort factor, wonder if Tiger Woods has considered a burger and fries approach to rediscovering his form?

The Human Effect

Two Universities have conducted a study into the health of bird life in Chernobyl following the radiation leak in 1986, initially they thought the effect would be devastating as it would affect the birds anti-oxidants. However where there has been no human contact (influence) the bird life has flourished. This leads them to believe the same will happen in Fukushima following last years Tsunami.

I guess that shows what effect we as humans can have, no always a positive one!

Whilst I felt for Lee Westwood who was playing the best golf tee to green you have to hand it to Bubba Watson, excellent performance from someone who claims to never have had a lesson. It was nice of a few friends to pat me on the back for suggesting he could be the winner, however I would have preferred it to be the bookie! Should have placed a bet.

Hosepipe Ban

Well we must be getting close to summer, hosepipe ban starts today. Hope you all got your cars washed and gardens watered in time? Apparently you can fill up ponds using your hosepipe if there are fish in them, wonder if that applies to other uses.
