Services- Design Assistance

Photofabrication has wide experience in component design, specification of metals and assistance in product design. As more than 45,000 parts have been produced over the past 30 years, our engineers have gained a vast wealth of detailed knowledge. It is unlikely any problems that you face have not been confronted before.

Component design
If you need a component which can be made from thin sheet metal but you are not sure how to make it, then call us on 01480 226699 or contact us for immediate advice. We are able to give you advice even if you only have a basic sketch available. We have skills to form your flat component into a complex 3D shape. From a simple sketch we are able to manufacture a sample using very low cost tooling to allow you to test the component in metal. This is a rapid prototyping service. Metals
We have a wide range of metals in stock, which are available in different levels of hardness. Additional treatments to the metals are available such as plating and heat treatment. We can often reduce the cost of the component dramatically by advising on a different metal to achieve the same performance of the component. E.g. copper with nickel plating could be replaced by the component being etched from nickel silver. Check our metals page for further information.

Product design
Throughout the company we have many facilities to assist in product design. This advice ranges from the integration of a component into a product to help in the complete project.
